How to order a marriage certificate
A party to a marriage, or a person with written authorization by the couple, can order a marriage certificate. To order a marriage certificate, you may:
* Apply in person at a Vital Statistics or Government Agent office.
* Apply by mailing the completed application form and appropriate fee.

How to change a marriage record
Proof, such as a certified photocopy (i.e. Citizenship Cards and Birth Certificates), is required to change a record. To change or correct an error to an existing record, download and complete the form called Statutory Declaration - Correction of Error or Omission in Registration.

You may also get the form at a Vital Statistics or Government Agent office. You will need to have your signature witnessed by a person authorized to take oaths. This service is available at any Vital Statistics or Government Agent Office.

How to order a certified copy of a marriage registration
To obtain a certified copy of a marriage registration:
1. Ensure that you are eligible for a registration.
2. Paying a prescribed fee of $50.
3. Apply to the Vital Statistics Agency by:

* Mailing a completed application form and cheque to the Vital Statistics Agency at PO BOX 9657 STN PROV GOVT, Victoria BC V8W 9P3
* Complete an application form and file it personally at your nearest Vital Statistics Office
* Order via Credit Card over the telephone or via facsimile.
