find the baby picture
Let's keep those guests entertained while you and your husband do your thing! Place a baby picture of a family member or bridal party person at each table and have your guests match up the name written on the back of their escort card to the correct baby picture. Place cards should be at their seat so they know they're on the right track. I'm sure there are variations to this seating game, but it's a fun start!
wedding movies tables
For all the movie buffs out there, why not make your reception reflect a little bit of who you are by labeling your reception tables with wedding movie titles? Some examples are: Polish Wedding, Muriel's Wedding, My Best Friend's Wedding, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Monsoon Wedding, American Wedding, Betsy's Wedding, Just Married, The Wedding Planner, Bride of Chucky, Runaway Bride, The Wedding Crashers, The Wedding Singer, The Wedding Date and Corpse Bride. Some of those were a stretch but WOW! I had no idea there are so many! Crazy!!
major canadian cities
If you love Canada, why not label your tables with all those fantastic canadian cities! Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Edmonton, Saskatoon..uhhh there's more...but you know them. Decorate each table with a 50 cent tourist postcard or a picture of a landmark in each city. Of course there is the ever so popular picture-of-places-we-have-been-together idea and that's just as good. It is! I especially think black and white travel photos are a great idea. Guests love pictures and they tend to be good conversation pieces for those who are seated with strangers.
location location location
Take a look at where you're getting married. What makes this place unique? If it's your hometown, name your tables after main streets, neighbourhoods, landmarks or spots that tell a story. If it's a destination wedding you can name your tables after large events that shaped the town, landmarks, parks, local wild animals, etc.
carry your theme
Some couples try to incorporate a theme into their wedding (examples from past clients are: wines from a vineyard, summer bugs, constellations, candy, cocktails, fruits, Paris and books) so why not continue your theme into your table and place cards?! Of course there's nothing wrong with just numbering your tables, but why not tie everything in, especially when you could have blue skies and daisies make them for you. ha. ha. no, but seriously, we can! We love fun projects.
placecard board game pieces
This is the best idea I've ever come up with...but it would take time and patience to really pull this off. How cool would it be to make place cards for all your guests in the form of a board game piece? I know what you're thinking... "how the hell do you do that?!" Well, let me tell you! You will need the following supplies: a good picture of each of your guests and blues skies & daisies.
This is why this is a very cool idea: A) The board game piece doubles as a cool wedding favour and a placecard B) they can take their personalized boardgame piece and use them whenever they play a boardgame, or atleast some of the boardgames.
